Dana-Farber president supports nomination of Elias Zerhouni as Director of the NIH

Dr. Elias Zerhouni is an outstanding choice for the directorship of the National Institutes of Health. He is a superb physician and scientist and a thoughtful and talented administrator. With his background in mathematics and physics, Elias brings a critical set of skills to the NIH, given the expanding role of genomics, proteomics and computational biology in biomedical research. In addition to his scholarship, Elias is a remarkably successful consensus builder. As a colleague at Johns Hopkins for five years, I saw his unique ability to quietly bridge differences between people and to unite them for a common goal. Elias is perfectly positioned as a scientist, a clinician and an administrator to lead the NIH in an effective and inspiring fashion.
