For the second consecutive year, Fenway Park will host a live, daylong radiothon and other related events this month — including an online auction — to celebrate the 50-year partnership between the Jimmy Fund and the Boston Red Sox.

Members of the Dana-Farber community are invited to attend or listen to (on 850AM) the WEEI Jimmy Fund Radiothon on Friday, Aug. 22. Last year's broadcast benefit generated more than $325,000 in gifts and pledges for the Jimmy Fund, the Sox's official charity.

Three popular activities will again take place in Fenway's Players Club as part of the festivities: "Breakfast with the Bosses," 8 to 9:30 a.m., will feature a panel discussion with the owners of the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins ($150); "Lunch With the Boys," noon to 2:30 p.m., will include a tour of historic Fenway and a chance to hobnob with current Sox players ($200); and a cocktail reception, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., will feature legendary sports stars from each of New England's "big four" professional teams, including the Celtics' John Havlicek and the Patriots' John Hannah. ($250). Attendees at the cocktail party will receive tickets to that evening's Red Sox-Seattle Mariners game.

As part of the radiothon, announcers will be interviewing Jimmy Fund Clinic patients and the doctors and nurses who treat them — along with past and present sports greats and celebrities such as Ben Affleck and Stephen King.

The WEEI Jimmy Fund online auction, meanwhile, will run through Aug. 20 at www.jimmyfundradiothon.org. Auction items include Red Sox/Jimmy Fund Massachusetts license plates with the numbers 1, 5, 8, 9, 27, or 406 that Red Sox fans know well; sports memorabilia; game tickets to the Red Sox or Bruins; a cruise with the Red Sox; and more.
