Volleyball is one of Holly Young's passions.

The members of my volleyball team at the University of New Hampshire are like my sisters. When I was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in 2004, at the end of my first semester here, they were as shocked and surprised as I was. As I've gone through treatment at the Jimmy Fund Clinic, my teammates and my coach have been incredibly supportive.

Having cancer has made me think about my priorities. I'm more appreciative of the people in my life and try to surround myself with those I care about. I try to value each moment and do things I enjoy. I used to be stubborn and was afraid to ask people for help; that has definitely changed.

I've kept a scrapbook during my treatment, where I write down my thoughts, feelings, and memories. I read inspirational stories, and I always make time to laugh. Even though I've lost my hair from chemotherapy, I embrace my new looks. They tell the story of what I've been through, and how I've become a stronger person.
