Ellen Shapiro Jaffe

Ellen Shapiro Jaffe is a resident of Palm Beach, Fla. She is a trustee of the Carl and Ruth Shapiro Family Foundation. In Palm Beach, she is trustee emeritus of the Norton Museum of Art where she has chaired the museum's Special Events Committee for four years and is a member of the Directors' Circle. She has also chaired two successful Bal des Arts galas for the museum, in 2002 and 2004, and has chaired the museum's "Dining by Design" for five years.

Mrs. Jaffe serves as a trustee of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts where she has served on the Development Committee. In the spring of 2005, Mrs. Jaffe chaired the Hearing Ovarian Cancer's Whisper (HOW) at The Breakers in Palm Beach. The event raised needed research funds to battle the disease known as the "whisper cancer." She also chaired Brigham and Women's Hospital Dinner in 2005, the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center dinner and, in 2008, she chaired the Brandeis University Palm Beach event. In 2007, she co-chaired the Planned Parenthood dinner.

Mrs. Jaffe is trustee emeritus of The Citi Performing Arts Center in Boston and served as chair of both the Restoration Ball and the Giorgio Armani Gala for the center. She serves as a trustee of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and is a member of the Acquisition and the Visiting Contemporary Committees for the museum. She is also an Honorary Life Trustee of Children's Hospital Boston and a former overseer of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Mrs. Jaffe is a member of the International Committee of The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Jaffe served as co-chair of the 2006 Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund's Palm Beach Discovery Ball and the 2008 Major Donor Dinner with her husband, Robert.
