Mike Rider
Mike Rider with his wife Caroline
Mike Rider has been a product development and manufacturing professional for over 20 years. He lives in Lowell, Mass., where he and his wife, Caroline, are raising their three young boys.
Mike's youngest son, Charlie, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in October 2006, just after his fourth birthday. While the experience of dealing with a childhood cancer is hard, the excellent care and unwavering compassion demonstrated by everyone at Dana-Farber and Children's Hospital Boston made life much better and has triggered Mike's desire to give something back to further improve the process for future patients and families.
Mike and Caroline joined the Pediatric Patient Family Advisory Council in September 2007. His Council interests include helping to make clinical information and medication management less complicated. Mike enjoys playing with the kids, skiing, reading, travel, and home improvement projects.
