Dedicated to Discovery. Committed to Care.

Interpreters

Dana-Farber provides interpreting services to help limited- and non-English-speaking patients, families, and health care providers communicate effectively across languages and cultures.

The service is available free-of-charge to adult and pediatric oncology patients and their families.

Interpreting services are available around the clock, in many different languages, either in person or over the telephone.

Both patients and/or family members who provide care for the patient may request interpreting services. Health care providers may also request interpreting services if they feel that the assistance of a trained medical interpreter is necessary to obtain or communicate medical information.

Phone numbers:

  • English and Spanish: (617) 632-3673
  • FAX: (617) 632-6988
  • TDD: (for deaf persons) (617) 632-5330
  • Other languages: (617) 632-6366

At this last number, callers can leave non-urgent messages in different languages after listening to the greeting and pressing the option for their language. Calls are returned by an interpreter who speaks the caller's language within 24 hours or during the next business day.
